The City of Plainview has constructed and will now operate an animal control facility for the purpose of impounding seized and stray dogs that are taken into custody by the Plainview Police Department.  Any dog that is impounded by the Plainview Police will be subject to a daily boarding fee of $25 per day until they are released to their owner. Owners must show proof of vaccinations and registration with the City of Plainview prior to the animal being released. After dogs have been held for five (5) days, they will become property of the municipality.

Dog licenses are $25 for a lifetime tag with proof of current rabies vaccination. All dogs that reside in City limits over the age of 6 months are required to be licensed with the City of Plainview. Dogs impounded by the Plainview Police will be subject to dog at large, boarding and registration fees, along with appropriate vaccinations if necessary.
