About Plainview, NE

Plainview is home to 1,282 (2020 Census) people in Pierce County, Nebraska, and offers nearly everything residents could want from amenities and health care to education and activities.

The Northeast Nebraska community is home to a hospital, clinic, nursing home and pharmacy. It has both a public and private elementary schools and public high school and is just 35 minutes in proximity to a community college.

Plainview has a variety of clubs and organizations with a something for everyone feel. Whether you want to volunteer or simply enjoy the social aspect of activities, there's something for you in Plainview.

Recreation

Chilvers Park has a shelter for events near the playground equipment, swimming pool, tennis courts and horseshoe pits. The updated tennis court area also has courts for basketball, pickle ball and four square. The location is ideal as it sits between Plainview Public School and Highway 20, near a convenience store and restaurant.

The Bandshell Park located one block north of Chivers Park offers additional playground equipment in addition to a shelter, 2 regulation sand volleyball courts and basketball courts. 

OUR ACHIEVEMENT

Plainview has also received world-wide attention as it was transformed into the fictional community of Hawthorne during filming of the Academy Award-nominated film "Nebraska" during 2013.
