TRASH
Garbage collection in the City of Plainview is handled by a private contractor. The City bills for garbage collection on the monthly utility bill. Garbage collection days in the City of Plainview are as follows: Tuesdays - east curb of 1st street going east and Fridays - west curb of 1st street going west.
The City also operates disposal sites for construction materials and trash. Appointments for each site can be made by contacting the City Office during regular business hours. Additional information can be found on this page.
GARBAGE PICKUP
Items Accepted: Most all items are accepted at the curb with the exception of leaves, grass, sticks, furniture, etc.
Schedule: Tuesday garbage service will begin on the east curb of 1st Street and continue east while Friday service will pick up the west curb and going west.
February 1, 2016, Bud's Sanitary Services became the new garbage collector. They are located out of Newman Grove, NE and can be reached by calling Daryl or Holly at 1-402-447-6472.
All trash must be placed in totes supplied and/or approved by Bud's Sanitary Services. One (1) tote is provided for each residence. An additional tote is available for an extra $5 charge per month. Each residence is allowed a maximum of two (2) totes.
Residents are reminded to have all trash out by 6:00 AM the day of their scheduled pick-up.

CONSTRUCTION & DEMOLITION
Items Accepted: All construction items are accepted including materials that have asbestos. It is important to note that if the material contains hazardous materials then you need to call the city offices for further instructions.

TRANSFER STATION
Items Accepted: Any other items that are not permissible at the C&D site can be collected at the transfer station with the exception of hazardous materials.
$75 per ton plus $5 weigh ticket fee. Minimum charge of $15
